Access English – Support for Teachers

Working with partners, this strand gives teachers direct access to high quality British Council resources for self-development which will be adapted to fit the local context. Plans are underway to integrate these resources into the local education system. These resources are:

Virtual Teacher Support Networks  – This involve a large-scale adaptation of the Global Home for Teachers to create a portfolio of integrated resources to fit the local context, adapting elements to the curriculum and inserting context-specific and relevant information when needed.

Learn English will also be adapted for delivery in education systems by mapping its contents to the curriculum. This is being done in partnership with the Department of Education (Deped).

English for English Teachers - This is a 150-hour online English training course which aims to help teachers with elementary or post-elementary English to achieve at least level B1 (threshold proficiency) of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: Learning, Teaching, Assessment. We would work with Deped to adapt the course to fit the country contexts and systems alongside and in a similar way to the Global Home for Teachers.
