What is the project?

Hatag Kalinaw 2008 is a youth-led project grant competition for school and community-based youth organisations in Mindanao on how the ideals of peace can be achieved through mutual understanding and entrepreneurship.  Winning organisations will receive up to Php 100,000 each to implement its project within a 6-month period.

Hatag Kalinaw is derived from two Bisayan words- hatag and kalinaw.  Hatag means to impart, give, share, grant and kalinaw which means peace.  The project embodies British Council Philippines’ aspiration to trickle down its peace-building efforts to the people of Minandao by supporting local youth organisations translate their plans into more tangible results.

What are its objectives?

Hatag Kalinaw aims to capacitate youth organisations in Mindanao to implement youth-led projects in their local communities through a project grant competition
