When and how will I get my result?

Your IELTS test results will be available thirteen days after your exam.  Your TRF will be ready for pick-up at the British Council office or will be mailed to the address indicated on your application form.  We do not give test results over the telephone or by email.

In case you would not be available to get your results at our office, you may send in a representative to claim it in your behalf. However, your representative should have: 1) an authorization letter signed by you, 2) your ID or a photocopy of it, and 3) his or her ID with picture. Without these requirements, we will not release your results to the representative.

You will only receive one original Test Report Form.  This is a very valuable document and it is recommended that you take due care in keeping your TRF secure.  IT CANNOT BE REPLACED.  Your IELTS test result is valid for two years.  However, some universities or organizations may have their own regulations on the period of validity.

What if I need extra copies of my Test Result Form?

The British Council can forward copies of your IELTS results to institutions and organizations following your submission of a request form.  The courier fee is Php 250 for local recipients and Php 1,200 for agencies or institutions located outside the Philippines.  Candidates who avail of the paid courier service will be given a tracking or air waybill number to track the delivery of their Test Result Forms.  Results will be forwarded within one week after the submission of the request form.

For local recipients, a letter of request from the institution or agency should be attached with the request form (not applicable for local embassies). It should state the reason why they need a copy of the results, printed on their letterhead and signed by an authorized signatory.

For candidates wishing to send their TRFs to CGFNS or ICHP, we offer a free courier service.  TRFs are sent in bulk via DHL every 15th and 30th of the month.  The requests should be received by the 12th or 28th for these to be processed and forwarded by the next forwarding date. Candidates who avail of this service will not be given an individual Air Waybill Number.

Please make sure that you include your CGFNS/ICHP reference number in your request.  Requests without a reference number cannot be processed.

We can also send copies of results to recipients in the United Kingdom for free.TRFs are sent out every Friday. No tracking number will be provided to the candidate.

Download the Additional TRF Request Form and send it with your payment to our office along with a manager’s or cashier’s cheque or bank draft made payable to the British Council. You may also come to our office and pay in cash. All payments should be in Pesos only. Credit card payments and checks from foreign banks are not accepted at this time. Candidates based outside the Philippines may have a representative process payment for them.

You may also fax the form to us at (02) 637-3231 if you are requesting the free courier service to CGFNS and ICHP or the United Kingdom.  You may also visit our office to make your request.

What can I do if I am not satisfied with my test results?

If you are not satisfied with your IELTS score, you may apply for an Enquiry on Results (EOR) service.  You should make sure that your request is made within SIX weeks after your test.  You must complete an Enquiry on Results Form and pay GBP 60 (this should be paid in peso) at our office.  You may also download and mail the Enquiry on Results Form together with a manager’s cheque payable to the British Council.  Please check first with the British Council for the prevailing conversion rate before you submit your form.

The fee for remarking is the same whether you requested for a full or partial re-mark.  All the required test scripts for the candidate, including the answer sheets and the interview tape, will be sent to British Council headquarters in the UK and then remarked by a Senior Examiner.  The procedure takes around 8-10 weeks.

If the re-mark results show an increase in any of the band scores, a full refund will be paid to you.  However, no refund will be made if there is no change in the scores.  The candidate should surrender the original receipt issued by the British Council for us to process refund. Refunds will take ten working days to process.

There is no appeal on the EOR result and the decision of the senior examiner is final.

Should the scores change after the EOR, we will issue you a new TRF once you have surrendered your original TRF.

Can I take the test again?
Yes, after May 1st 2006, all candidates can re-take the test as soon as they like regardless of when they took the test.  The same registration procedures apply for those who want to re-take the test.
