 INTERNATIONAL YOUNG SCREEN ENTREPRENEUR AWARD
British Council Philippines is searching for a talented young Filipino Entrepreneur to represent the Philippines in the International Young Screen Entrepreneur Award for 2008 in the UK.  As a representative of the Philippines, you will have the chance to be in the UK for an all-expense-paid 12 day visit and attend the Times BFI London Film Festival.  Prior to this, the programme will take all 10 finalists to meet film and TV business professional’s people in London, Bristol and Wales in October 2008.
 BRITISH COUNCIL PHILIPPINES RECOGNISED FOR GXP WORK
British Council along with VSO Philippines and VSO Bahaginan were recently recognised as strategic partners in the implementation of Globe Telecoms Bridging Communities program last 29 April at the Ayala Museum.   Globe Bridging Communities or BridgeCom is the integrated corporate social responsibility program of Globe Telecom which focuses on education, entrepreneurship, environment, youth development and community involvement and volunteerism.
 MENTORING WORKSHOPS
The British Council will have a series of workshops conducted by Angie Malderez at the Ateneo de Manila University’s Centre for English Language Teaching from 13-14 May on Mentoring for Professional Development and on 15-16 May on Mentoring for Teachers of English.

 A LETTER TO GRANDMA WON A HIGHLY COMMENDED SHINE AWARD
Mr Don Eliseo Prisno III has recently won a Highly Commended award in the UK’s Shine 2008 Student Awards.  The International Student Awards 2008 is an exciting competition run by the British Council in the UK that celebrates the achievements of international students and their contributions to life in the UK.
