Creative Cities

Making creative and open cities through global partnerships with the UK

The Creative Cities is a 3 year artistic partnership between the countries of East Asia and the UK. Following on from the UK’s numerous creative cities like London, Bristol, Glasgow and Edinburgh; countries in East Asia have recognised how the creative industries have helped in a city’s regeneration.

In the Philippines, support for the creative entrepreneur is at the core of our work. We believe that nurturing the creative entrepreneur contributes to the long-term economic, cultural and social prosperity of a city. Fostering an environment of openness, cultural diversity, great design and dynamic leadership at many levels prevents creative talents from moving elsewhere.

The UK has world-leading expertise in mapping creative industries, developing creative clusters within cities and supporting educational and entrepreneurial cultures.  We intend to use this expertise to help emerging creative cities in the Philippines thrive.
