14th EDUCATION UK EXHIBITION WORKSHOPS

Do you want to study in the UK?

In partnership with UK educational institutions, we organised three specialised workshops that can help future students prepare for studying in UK schools and universities.


METAMORPHOSIS: A 2D Animation Workshop

Dates: 13-14 February 2013, Wednesday and Thursday
Time: 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Venue: Power Mac Center ATTC,

           2nd Level Cedar Executive Bldg.,
           1006 Arnaiz Avenue (formerly Pasay Road),
           Makati City

At the heart of animation is the idea of development and change, the transformation and deformation of objects through time. In this workshop we will explore how visual metamorphosis can be achieved through a variety of animation techniques.


The 2D workshop will run for two days and will be delivered by Mr. Hugo Glover, senior lecturer at Northumbria Design, University of Northumbria.

Participants will be screened initially to ensure a homogeneous group. Once chosen, the selected participants will then be advised of payment procedures.

CREATING YOUR FASHION PORTFOLIO: A Workshop


Date: 15 February 2013, Friday
Time: 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Venue: SoFA Design institute

To get in to fashion programmes and short courses at UK institutions, it is essential that interested students present a convincing portfolio. This workshop will provide students with insights into what UK institutions are looking for in fashion portfolios. Tips and guidelines will be provided to ensure that your portfolio merits the assessor's attention!


This workshop will be delivered by Mr. Douglas MacLennan, principle lecturer for Fashion at Northumbria Design, University of Northumbria.

OXBRIDGE PREPARATION WORKSHOP

Date and Time:
16 February, Saturday, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; and
17 February, Sunday, 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Venue: Dasmarinas Room, Intercontinental Hotel, Makati City


Designed for ambitious international students aged 15-16 years old, our preparation programme lets you find out what you need to learn and the traits you should develop over the next two to three years to become the perfect Oxbridge candidate.


The workshop will be delivered by representatives from CATS College and will cover the following topics:

A. An Introduction to Oxbridge – The Oxbridge collegiate system
B. Making an intelligent application – Why degree choice matters
C. Writing a personal statement – Interview preparation and practice
D. Entrance exams – Dos and dont's – Personalised feedback
