On this page you will find links to publishers who specialise in English language teaching, online bookshops that specialise in selling books for English language teaching, publishers of children's books, and publishers of magazines for young learners of English.

A note about publishers: There are many publishers of books for English language teaching and of children's books. The links below will take you to commercial publishers' websites that have free resources that you can download and print, or free online activities that you can try with your child.

There are many publishers of resources for English language learning and teaching. The publishers below publish materials for young learners. On their websites you'll find information about classroom coursebooks, and also information about reference and self-study resources. Some publishers also have a range of graded readers, books that have been adapted for learners, and also CDs.
These sites give information about their products, but they also have free resources to download, and online activities.

There are many publishers of children's books. The websites below are all for commercial publishers, but they all have free online resources and features such as interviews, extracts, reviews, and competitions. You and your child might like to look at some of these together. Some of the sites offer advice to parents.

Scholastic
Scholastic have a great website with an area for children called the Zone, with book news, competitions, information about authors, and competitions. There is also a section for families with information for parents and carers about choosing books, encouraging reading and reluctant reading.

Puffin Books
This site is by the children's publisher Puffin but has lots of information about books and authors. You'll also find games, a podcast of Puffin classics, and links to great websites, such as Angelina Ballerina and the young Bond.

Random House
Find information about authors such as Jacqueline Wilson, Philip Pullman and Roald Dahl, and links to authors' sites where there is a lot to do. Also interviews and extracts. Suggestions for books are divided into different age groups.

Barringstoke specialise in books for dyslexic and reluctant readers. You'll also find information for parents of children who are having problems with reading.

Harper Colins
Find information about characters and links to microsites - discover Narnia for example, or the W.I.T.C.H girls' world. Plus there are bookmarks, ecards, games, information about authors and illustrators - and the book doctor who will solve your book-related problems.
