Many young children enjoy listening to and saying rhymes. Rhymes can be a great way to introduce young children to English.

On this page you can download a feature called 'Rhyme and Record'. With 'Rhyme and Record' you can listen to 15 rhymes, and record yourself saying the rhymes with your child.

Please note that the 'record' feature of Pron Pal will not work with Windows Vista or if you are using a Mac.

HOW TO USE RHYME AND RECORD
To download the resource, right-click on this link (please note that this is a big file):
Download Rhyme and Record (16.1MB)

Choose 'Save target as', and choose where you want to save the file. If you're a using a Mac, double-click on the link and use the on-screen window to choose where you want to save the file.

Rhyme and Record is a zipped file. Extract the files and you will find a folder called 'RR'. You will see 15 flash files, for example:

Click on one of them, for example 'RR_Acker Backer Soda Cracker', and you will see this:

You will now see the text of a rhyme, and also four buttons. Click on the buttons for the following:
Image - rhyme and record button 1 If you click on this button you will hear an adult saying the rhyme.

Image - rhyme and record button 2 If you click on this button you will hear an adult saying the rhyme but some of the sounds are missing. Can you and your child fill in the gaps?

Image - rhyme and record button 3 If you click on this button you will hear an adult and a child saying the rhyme.

Image - rhyme and record button 1 If you click on this button you will be able to record yourselves saying the rhyme. Please note that this function is not available if you are using a Mac, or if you are using Windows Vista.
