LATEST PRON PAL

Help your child learn how to pronounce words and phrases about school with the latest version of Pron Pal. Listen to words and sentences, and practise saying them. Find more versions of Pron Pal too.

Pron Pal will help you and your child with English pronunciation. You can store Pron Pal on your computer and use it to listen to words and phrases about common topics. If you have a microphone, children will also be able to record themselves saying the words and phrases.

Have a look at an example of Pron Pal below. There is a new version of Pron Pal each month. If you would like to download the new versions, just register with LearnEnglish Parents.

Please note that the 'record' feature of Pron Pal will not work with Windows Vista or if you are using a Mac.

HOW TO USE PRON PAL
Here is an example of Pron Pal and instructions for how to use it. With this version of Pron Pal you can practise key words and phrases related to homes and furniture.

To download the resource, right-click on this link:
Download Pron Pal Homes and furniture (1.13MB)

Choose 'Save target as', and choose where you want to save the file. If you're a using a Mac, double-click on the link and use the on-screen window to choose where you want to save the file.

Pron Pal is a zipped file. Extract the files and you will find a folder called 'Pron Pal 1'. Open the folder and click on the application called 'Pron_Pal'. Pron Pal will now open and will look like the picture below:

Click on the sound buttonImage of sound buttonto hear the words and phrases. You can record your voice and listen to your own pronunication. You'll find instructions for how to record your voice if you click the 'Help' button in Pron Pal, or you can download the instructions (534KB).
