International English Language Testing System

Are you planning to study or train abroad? Are you applying to an institution and need to prove your level of English? Do you need to raise your standard in English? Then we can help you with an International English Language Testing System (IELTS) exam.

IELTS is accepted by most UK, Australian, Canadian and New Zealand academic institutions. In the United States it is increasingly gaining recognition as an alternative to TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language).

The test has also now been granted approval for use in the UK’s new points-based immigration system for tier 1 - highly skilled migrants such as doctors, scientists or entrepreneurs.

WHAT TYPE OF IELTS SHOULD YOU TAKE?
You can take either the Academic or General Training Reading and Writing modules. You'll need to choose the Academic Reading and Writing module if you are planning to undertake academic study in a higher education institution. If you are planning to undertake non-academic training or apply for immigration to Australia, Canada or New Zealand, we recommend you take the General Training Reading and Writing modules. If you are unsure of which module to take, you can discuss this with our exams officer.
WHAT DOES THE TEST INVOLVE?
You will be tested in listening, reading, writing and speaking, whichever module you take. The Listening, Reading and Writing tests are taken in one day. The Listening module lasts for 30 minutes. The Reading and Writing tests last for 60 minutes for each paper. The Speaking module may be taken on the same day of the other three modules, or at the discretion of the test centre, in the period seven days before or after the other modules.
WHERE AND WHEN WILL THE TEST BE?
Our offices in Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, Multan, Faisalabad & Hyderabad offer full testing facilities on a regular basis. It is not necessary to attend a preparation course though it is a good idea to prepare thoroughly beforehand. See the calendar for available dates.

WHEN AND HOW WILL YOU RECEIVE YOUR RESULTS?
The test is marked at our centre to help us make sure you receive your results within 14 working days. IELTS candidates' test results are available 13 days after taking the test. Results will be returned to you as a Test Report Form. There is no pass or fail mark. Scores are given on a band scale of one to nine (with one being a non-user and nine being an expert user of the English language). Download or read through a copy of the IELTS handbook for more detailed information.
