Chevening Scholarships Orange lozenge left

PLEASE NOTE AS OF 1 APRIL 2012 THE BRITISH COUNCIL NO LONGER ADMINISTERS THE CHEVENING SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMME.

Chevening Scholarships are prestigious awards, which enable overseas students to study in the United Kingdom. The Chevening programme is for postgraduate studies or research at UK Institutions of Higher Education.

CHEVENING SCHOLARSHIP

We are pleased to announce that the Chevening Scholarship has been awarded for 2011. The two successful applicants are Sam Inglis (who is off to study at Oxford University's Said Business school), and Yanchuan Zhang, who is studying for a PhD in Chemistry at the University of Cambridge.

Keep an eye on this site for announcements for the 2012 programme.

This Scholarship is designed to encourage the development of future leaders. The successful applicant will need to demonstrate the personal, intellectual and interpersonal attributes to realise this potential.

The scheme has an increased focus on emphasising areas that are important to British Foreign Policy over the coming years such as Climate Change, the United Nations Millennium Development Goals, conflict prevention, counter terrorism measures, and the promotion of sustainable global growth.
