Design Awards uncover Kiwi ingenuity

Alexander Wastney was the 2008 James Dyson Awards recipient. His winning entry was a therapy table designed for professional sports teams, which can be compacted into a durable suitcase on wheels. Applications for the 2009 Awards have now closed, with a decision for 2009 being made at the awards event in Auckland on July 22nd - Find out more about the Awards.

People In Your Neighbourhood 2009

Planning is now underway for PIYN 2010, which will involve participatory media and online skills development for young aspiring creative entrepreneurs. The shows in May 2010 will involve worldwide live internet streams and cutting edge visual digital media - stay tunes for details.

In partnership with the Office of Ethnic Affairs, the Human Rights Commission & the Asia NZ Foundation, the British Council presents the People In Your Neighbourhood Project.

The Project involves aspiring artists and performers from Auckland's urban ethnic communities, working with the best of contemporary UK talent, to create an intercultural album/dvd and perform a live music show.
