NorthSouthEastWest exhibition illustrates the impact of climate change across the globe with photographs from ten of the top photographers in the world, and comments from ten of the most influential people today, including Tony Blair, Kofi Annan and Leonardo DiCaprio.
The exhibition was launched earlier this year in London and New York and will tour 60 countries over the next two years; Norway was one of the first countries to receive it. The version in Oslo featured two additional columns, dealing with Norwegian approaches and initiatives on climate change. The local displays were made possible through close partnership with Miljøverndepartementet and Oslo, Akershus and Buskerud Kommuner.
Environment Minister Knut Arild Hareide opened the exhibition on 20th May 2005 at 10 pm, at Rådhusplassen. Mariot Leslie, British Ambassador and Sarah Prosser, Director British Council Norway aslo spoke at the opening.
Build your own green dream Between 20-23rd of May, there was an activities-tent next to the exhibition, where children got the chance to build windmills, solar-powered clocks and their own eco-friendly inventions. Parents could also join in the fun by planting fast growing grass seeds or designing their own UV wanring badges for their mobiles phone.
