SERVICES TO UK INSTITUTIONS

We have developed this page to assist UK HE institutions interested in promoting their institution in Norway. Norway is not part of the Education UK Partnership list of countries (previous ECS) so our services are limited to providing basic online market information for education exporters.

This market information has been developed on the basis of the most common enquires we receive. Unfortunately we are not able to provide more detailed answers to specific questions.

This information is aimed at UK HE institutions wanting to promote their institution in Norway. We do not work in the schools, FE or English Language sector so we are unable to provide this information for these sectors.

VISITING NORWAY

When is the best time to visit Norway?

The main education fairs usually take place in January and February with the exception of the “Study Abroad fair” and the various agent fairs. Institutions that do make individual visits often find Spring or October-November time a good time.

Contacting schools and institutions directly

If you wish to contact upper secondary schools* directly, contact information can be found on the following website (link to all upper secondary schools in Norway):

http://www.ped.lex.no/4DACTION/WA_Index/[Where=A]/[P=4]/[S=010013410101]/[What=@]/[Where=A]/[1=1]/[2=1]/[3=1]/[Gr=230_280_240_285]/[Lim=100]

This page gives details of individual “kommuner”. Clicking on it will take you through to the individual schools and in mot cases their websites which have full contact details.

*Please note that some of the Norwegian upper secondary schools has expressed concerned about the volume of queries they receive from international institutions. They are not always able to reply to all.

If you wish to contact Norwegian universities or university colleges the following link has a complete listing: http://www.nokut.no/sw478.asp

Most but not all Norwegian HE’s have their website available in English.

When are the Norwegian school holidays?

In addition to the festive season holidays there are two main holidays in the Norwegian academic year, autumn and winter holidays. The timing of these holidays varies according to geographical regions. The autumn break is usually in late September and the winter holiday is usually in late February. Information on precise dates will be on the relevant local education authority websites, which you can access from this link
