About us
What we do

The British Council creates international opportunities for the people of the UK and other countries and builds trust between them worldwide.

We call this cultural relations.

How we work

We work in partnership with individuals and public and private sector organisations to fund and deliver project-based activity. We are responsive to the needs of our partners.

Our delivery methods include structured visits, seminars, conferences, performances and exhibitions together with UK, Norwegian and/or international partner institutions.

We provide advice to individuals and organisations on opportunities for engagement with the UK with relevance to our themes.

We encourage individuals and organisations with an interest in partnering with ourselves and the UK to contact us with specific proposals which fit our themes.
