 Lives Entwined III - new book of essays on Anglo-Irish relations launched

'Britain & Ireland: Lives Entwined III’ is a new book of essays exploring the complex web of relations that exist between Britain and Ireland. Commissioned and published by the British Council, it follows two successful volumes of the same name published in 2005 and 2006, and the 2004 report Through Irish Eyes exploring changing attitudes towards the UK among young Irish people.  Transatlantic Network 2020

Transatlantic Network 2020 (TN2020) is a new initiative that seeks to create sustainable, multilateral networks that span the Atlantic by engaging future leaders from North America and Europe to collaboratively address global issues.  The inaugural summit will be held in Northern Ireland at the end of September 2008.  More ....

This Question Time event marking the conclusion of NcompasS, the successful cross-border programme, was hosted by the BBC's Mark Carruthers on Wednesday 23 April.  NcompasS has been a hugely successful initiative which has enabled over 1,500 young people to engage with their neighbours across the border.  More ....
 Local to Global Video Competition has two winners

Congratulations to Banbridge High School and St Conleth's College, Dublin, who have won this exciting Video Competition focusing on global warming and renewable energy, and will now participate in the Cape Farewell Arctic Voyage programme 2008. More Information ...

 'Close to Home' - a Living Together Photography Exhibition
This thought-provoking exhibition by emerging artists from South East Europe opens to the public in Belfast's Waterfront Hall on 4 May 2008.  Part of the wider Living Together project, the exhibition is open until 23 May and will then embark on an eight country tour.  Related events for budding photography groups (part of the Cathedral Quarter Arts Festival) will be held in Belfast on 3 May - 'Capture Belfast' is a free event with prizes for the best photograph of local icons.  In additional local artists can avail of a one-day workshop on 5 May with the Institute of International Visual Arts - places available.  More ....
