BRITISH COUNCIL NORTHERN IRELAND ADVISORY COMMITTEE SEEKS NEW CHAIR PERSON

The British Council creates international opportunities for the people of the UK and other countries and builds trust between them worldwide. It is the UK’s leading international organisation for cultural relations with representation in over 100 countries around the world.

To assist us in the quality and independence of our thinking, we rely on the expert advice of the UK Country Advisory Committees.

In Northern Ireland, we are seeking a new Chair Person for our Northern Ireland Advisory Committee to provide advice to help shape our work by highlighting major developments and distinctive Northern Ireland strengths, offering fresh insights and identifying new opportunities.  As Chair of the Northern Ireland Advisory Committee you will chair Northern Ireland Advisory Committee meetings (quarterly), lead the Committee in pursuit of the aims outlined in the terms of reference, attend meetings of the Chairs of the UK Country Committees (annually), review papers for Board meetings and help ensure an appropriate Northern Ireland contribution to our overall strategy and an effective response to the international aspirations and needs of Northern Ireland.

Positions on the Northern Ireland Advisory Committee are not remunerated.
