Ordinary Lives Project moves to Brussels |
The Ordinary Lives project explores stories of European migration through the eyes of 18 young people living in or moving to Northern Ireland, describing the experience of arrival and departure, the people met, and those left behind. Their fascinating experiences have been captured in text and photographs. Working with our partner OFMDFMNI, Ordinary Lives, first seen in Belfast, moves moves to the European Parliament, Brussels, in early September. For more information contact Emily Wilcox. |

Transatlantic Network 2020 |
Transatlantic Network 2020 is a major new British Council initiative aimed at strengthening ties between Europe and North America. Targeting early career professionals aged 25-35 with future potential to shape society, the programme focuses on the sharing of experience and knowledge with events organised around key global challenges facing Europe and the US. TN2020 will hold its first one week summit, jointly hosted by British Council Northern Ireland and Ireland, between 28 September and 3 October 2008. The event will begin in Belfast and move to Dublin. Approximately 100 participants will come together for a week of inspiring and memorable visits and debates. Why not get involved? For more information contact Emma Baker. The official launch took place in Berlin 16-19 March 08 and involved 30 participants from across the UK, Europe and North America . A compilation of ‘think-pieces’ that we commissioned from writers and journalists across Europe and the US were unveiled: Mary Fitzgerald of the Irish Times gives the Island of Ireland perspective.
