2008 EDUCATION UK EXHIBITION
British Council Nigeria is organising education exhibitions in Abuja, Lagos and Kano.

The exhibition will bring representatives from UK education providers to meet face to face with prospective international students in Nigeria.
The exhibitors will provide first-hand information to students exploring opportunities for study in the UK.

Workshop and Seminars:
Workshops will be available during the exhibition at each venue. Akanimo Odon, the 2006 British Council’s International Student of the Year and other UK alumni will be leading workshops on their experiences of studying and living in the UK.

Tickets for the event can be obtained for N2000 at any British Council office or at the venues.

About Akanimo Odon
Akanimo is a published author (www.creativeakan.com),  poet, novelist and an international multi-award winner with awards which includes:

  • The British Council International Student Award for the North West of England in 2006
  • The British Council International Student Award for the whole of the United Kingdom in 2006
  • The Editors Choice Award for 2005 from the International Library of Poetry, International Roundtable for Entrepreneurship
  • The Education Fellowship Award from Stanford University Business Ventures, USA
  • The Enterprisers Certificate from the Enterprisers Program organized by the University of Cambridge Judge Business School, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), USA and the Centre for Entrepreneurial Learning, UK


He was also a representative of Lancaster University in the Young Entrepreneurs Scheme (YES) programme sponsored by BBSRC, Unilever, BIA, Lonza and a host of other reputable companies.

He has been given several high profile receptions because of his achievements including a reception by the Former British Prime Minister, Tony Blair at 10 Downing Street, the Current MP for Lancaster and Wyre, Ben Wallace, at the House
