English language quailfications for doctors working in the UK

The GMC PLAB test is designed to assess knowledge, skills and ability to ensure that medical doctors have the appropriate knowledge and skills to work safely in a first appointment as a senior house officer in a UK hospital and have the ability to communicate in English. We are an approved PLAB Test Part 1 Centre of the General Medical Council (GMC) of the UK.

The test is assessed by the UK’s General Medical Council. The test is in two parts. Part 1 is what we offer at the British Council, while Part 2 is the clinical exam and takes place in the UK.

When can you take the test?
You can take a PLAB test at any of our four centres.
You can register for an exam at any of our four centres; no later than two months before your test date.
