At our Kano centre, we offer the following services and have the following projects:
The North meets North project brought Hausa and Scottish musicians together to showcase and share their different traditional musical styles and instruments. The project has now been renamed Arewa.
Reel Dialogues seeks to provide a training and production environment which encourages dialogue between filmmakers in Northern Nigeria and the UK, supports the development of the Hausa film industry and produces films that express the Hausa culture accurately and creatively to a national and international audience.
Our English Language Teaching resources provide teachers of the English Language with the resources they need to inspire and support their students and for their own professional development.
Our Information Centre contains about 5,000 physical resources and subscriptions to hundreds of e-resources. The centre is made up of a Contemporary UK section, housing daily newspapers from the UK, over 60 magazines and journals on different subjects, contemporary UK fiction, documentary videos (natural history, biographies, and wildlife) and books. We also stock a range of management books and videos.
Our multimedia section offers easy internet access (with several information resources book-marked on our screens). We run a programme of free internet training for select groups and a user education programme.
We offer the following exams: Cambridge GCE O & A Level, International English Language Testing System (IELTS), City and Guilds, plus support for distance learning programmes.
