UKRO Annual Conference 2012 - 28 – 29 June, Leeds
Each year the UK Research Office (UKRO) organises a two-day Annual Conference aimed predominantly at European Liaison Officers, European research managers, Research Councils and policy makers. The conference provides an excellent forum for discussion and networking with key speakers from the European Commission on a range of EU policies and funding opportunities. The UKRO 2012 Annual Conference will take place at Leeds Metropolitan University, Rose Bowl Conference Centre, on Thursday 28 and Friday 29 June 2012. The 2012 International Convention on Science, Education and Medicine in Sport - July 2012

The International Olympic Committee (IOC), International Paralympic Committee (IPC), International Federation of Sports Medicine (FIMS) and the International Council of Sport Science and Physical Education (ICSSPE) are proud to announce that their International Convention on Science, Education and Medicine in Sport will take place in Glasgow just before the Opening Ceremonies for the 2012 Olympic Games. ICSEMIS replaces and expands the scope of the former four-yearly Congresses that were so familiar to many scientists and academics in sport.
The Convention will be an opportunity for leading researchers to understand eachother’s needs, gain knowledge from other disciplines and address issues in sport and society that can only be tackled through joint efforts. Researchers, students and practitioners from every branch of sport and exercise are invited to attend and to share this unique opportunity for multi-and interdisciplinary scientific exchange. The ESOF is Europe’s largest general science meeting and is held in a leading Europe city every two years. ESOF 2012 will be hosted in Dublin, Ireland from July 11th-15th, 2012. ESOF is an interdisciplinary, pan-European meeting, which showcases the latest advances in science and technology; promotes a dialogue on the role of science and technology in society and public policy; and stimulates and provokes public interest, excitement and debate about science and technology. BIRAX Regenerative Medicine Initiative
The BIRAX Regenerative Medicine Initiative is pleased to invite researchers from universities in the UK and Israel to apply for funding under the scheme.
We invite proposals for joint research projects between the UK and Israel in regenerative medicine; awards will be granted for up to £400,000 over 3 years. Collaborative proposals are welcome from researchers (Principal Investigators) holding a position in academic institutions, research hospitals and research institutions in either country.
