Zero Carbon Centre

The Zero Carbon Centre is a pioneering virtual exhibition and conference centre developed to connect individuals and organizations committed to building a more sustainable future.

It comprises a user-friendly 3-D environment resembling an exhibition centre where each partner organisation has a multi-room ‘stand’ through which to disseminate information, display video and connect with visitors. There is a separate theatre where documentaries are screened.

The exhibition space is twinned with a video conferencing centre in which partners can conduct training and stage webinars for global audiences.

As a digital hub it offers full social media integration and all of its operating emissions are offset, making it a, clean, smart space for learning, discussion and innovation.

This allows the British Council and our partners to broaden the reach of our climate change activities at low cost and harness ideas from individuals and communities who may not otherwise have a voice in global discussions of climate change and sustainability.

Our partners on the Zero Carbon Centre currently include UNICEF, United Nations University, the UK’s Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC), The Carbon Trust, Infosys, BBC and Deutsche Welle.
