Sue Hoyle

In July 2008 Sue moved from Deputy Director to succeed Chris Smith as Director of the Clore Cultural Leadership Programme. She is also the Lead Advisor for Dance at the Arts Council England.

Until July 2003, Sue was Executive Director of The Place. Sue's extensive experience includes the London Festival Ballet; Extemporary Dance Theatre; Director of Dance for the Arts Council of Great Britain (1986 - 94); Deputy Secretary-General of the Arts Council of England (1994 - 97) and Head of Arts for the British Council in France.

Sue has also worked as a consultant with Coopers and Lybrand and International Intelligence on Culture, advising the Hong Kong Arts Council on funding strategy. She is a Patron of the Foundation for Community Dance, advisor to the Drama and Dance department of the British Council, a member of the Board of Directors of Ricochet Dance Company, DV8 Physical Theatre, the London Philharmonic Orchestra and a member of the Franco-British Council.
