Gerard Lemos CMG leads the research team at Lemos&Crane.
He is the author of numerous books and reports about social policy and is currently writing a book about social welfare in China. He has written a series of books and reports about supporting vulnerable people, most recently Steadying the Ladder: Social and emotional aspirations of homeless and vulnerable people. He is the co-author with the distinguished sociologist Michael Young of The Communities We Have Lost and Can Regain.
He is also Chairman of the Banking Code Standards Board, the UK regulator of retail banking products, Vice-President of the British Board of Film Classification, a non-executive Director of the Crown Prosecution Service and a trustee of Dartington Hall. He is also a visiting Professor at Chongqing Technology and Business University.
He is a former Chair of Akram Khan Dance Company, Audit Commissioner and Civil Service Commissioner in the UK.
He received a CMG in the Queens' Birthday Honours List in 2001 for services to the British Council.
