Collaboration with London's newly restored Whitechapel Gallery brings the British Council Collection to rare public display in the UK.

My Yard is the third in a series of five special exhibitions and sees artists Jeremy Deller and Alan Kane celebrate British people and places by presenting their selection on urban landscapes drawn from the Collection. The selection of works examines Britain’s industrial history and urban realities as seen by artists throughout the 20th century, including L.S. Lowry, Ben Nicholson, John Davies and Edward Wadsworth.

Passports: Great Early Buys

Passports: Great Early Buys was curated by artist Michael Craig-Martin and concentrated on the Collection’s great strengths – buying from artists at early stages in their careers and showing works of art internationally. The exhibition provided a ‘passport’ for each exhibit, detailing the acquisition price and global exhibition history, which proved a unique insight into the Collection’s international purpose.
