The third Young Apeldoorn Conference took place on 12, 13 and 14 October 2008 at the Grand Opera House, in Belfast. This conference included 48 delegates from the UK and the Netherlands, who are regarded as highly relevant within their respective fields, mainly in politics, business, government or the media.

The Conference set out with commitments to:

• high levels of challenge and participation for delegates
• strong emphasis on practical outcome
• customised levels of follow-up activity
• continued contact between Apeldoorn alumni after the Conference
