This competition ran between October 2005 and April 2006. Photos can no longer be submitted.
A digital camera has been awarded to the following winners:
In the category ‘Climate Change’: 'He can be the last' by Anna Leksina from St.Petersburg, Russia "I study at Alexandrinskya school in the 9th form. I like music, sport and of course photography. I chose this photo because now a lot of animals are in danger, because of climate change."
In the category ‘Genetics and Identity’: 'The eye of the storm' by Ellie Rathbone from Farnham, UK 'I am 17 years old and in the sixth form at Frensham Heights school. I have always really liked photography, and may be taking it as an AS level next year. I took this picture of my own eye, after a fair few attempts to get it in the centre, because I wanted to capture the different colours, depths and patterns within the eye. I think it worked quite well; I believe you can tell a lot from someone's eye!''
We have published all images in our online gallery. You will be able to rate all the images that are published online. The gallery should also provide an inspiring look at the two of the biggest issues facing science today.
