Alternative guide to careers in science

As part of Next Generation Science we are encouraging young people to investigate science careers which interest them, and share what they learn with others. The reports which they generate will be compiled into an Alternative guide to careers in science.

If you would like to submit an entry for the next phase of the project, email it to Joanna de Jong-Keogh stating your name, age, and school contact details.

  • You can choose any scientific career you like, for example, you could interview a scientist, write a ‘Day in the Life of…’ or create a roadmap for a particular career path – it’s entirely up to you.
  • Entries should be in a format compatible with Windows (word, pdf etc). Streaming video cannot be published.
  • The file must be below 2 MB to be used on the website.
  • You must have permission from any person featuring in your material to publish it.
