On 5 May 2006, another week of hard work for 32 young people from four UK and four NL schools resulted in a large sports festival in the atmospheric Soccarena in Durham. This was the second international Dreams + Teams training organised by the British Council Netherlands in cooperation with the Youth Sports Trust, and again it was a great success.
This time the entire training took place in Durham (UK). The teachers were trained over a period of three days at Blakeston School in Stockton. The agenda not only featured acquiring leadership skills through sports, but also the exchange of ideas, learning about other cultures and languages, and setting up firm links between the UK and NL schools. The Young Leaders were trained at Durham Gilesgate School in Durham, and after an intensive three days they organised a very successful festival for about 200 primary children at the Soccarena in Durham. When the earlier invited 200 school primary school children arrived at the nicely decorated sports hall, all felt the inspiring atmosphere, and the fun of playing sports together.
