Dirty pond turned into clean pond with fishes

British Council Active Citizens in Nepal turned a dirty and disorganised temple with pond at Chyamasingh, Bhaktapur to an amusing heritage site.

Earlier, the place was used by local people for drying paddy and clay pots. The pond water was used for washing clothes, bathing and cleaning utensils which was contaminating the pond. The attached public toilets were also very unclean because of mismanagement.

It was not an easy job for the Active Citizens when they took up the project of renovating the temple. Find out more.
