Registering for the IELTS test with the British Council is simple. You can register for your IELTS in any of the following ways:
1.Register Online

The following documents are needed for your registration:
- completed and signed application form (for paper registration) OR IELTS Application Summary print out (for Online Registration; you can print this summary directly from the IELTS online registration website or confirmation email sent to you)
- test fee in cash – NPR 12,600tTwo passport sized colour photographs (not older than six months/without cap or hat and without glasses)
- two photocopies of your valid passport
Find out from the institution you have applied to which module of IELTS you need to take.
Tests for listening, reading and writing module will take place on the same day. The speaking module may take place within a week before or after the other modules.
If you wish to change your test date, you must inform us at least five weeks before the test that you have registered for.
We charge a re-registration fee of NPR 3000 each time you change your test date.
If you wish to cancel your test, you must inform us at least five weeks before the test that you have registered for. You must return the original receipt at the same time. We cannot give a refund without the original receipt. We will refund 75% of the test fee.
If you do not attend the test on the date you have registered for without informing us, we will not refund any of the test fees.
You must collect your Test Report Form(TRF) from our Examination Services. You can collect the result (TRF) 13 days after your written test. You can also see your result form here.
If you cannot collect your TRF in person, you must give your representative a signed letter of authorisation and the original passport.
If you happen to loose your TRF in any case, we can re-issue a replacement TRF. You will need to submit following documents:
- letter (hardcopy) from the candidate stating the reason (in detail) of loss
- police Report
- photocopy of TRF
- photocopy of passport (front and back page) for ID verification purposes
We send TRF to foreign institutes that require you to submit them. We will charge actual courier services costs.
If you are not satisfied with your test score and would like your test to be remarked, we can send your scripts to Cambridge within 4 weeks of the results being issued. In this case another examiner in the UK remarks all your test papers. We will charge an equivalent of £ 60 in NPR.
