My father studied in England at the University of Reading and he advised me to make contact with the British Council. I also heard a lot about Britain and the British people and I was curious to verify my impressions. The British Council personnel was very helpful in providing me with the appropriate answers to my questions and preparing my programme in the UK. I visited many parts of England during my stay for the Summer English Course at Oxford College for Further Education. The fact that I spent a month in the UK was great and was useful and enjoyable. I was staying with a nice family, though without children of my age, I was able to know more about British habits and culture. The English course programme was also informative and well balanced between class, practical and relaxing activities. Before going to the UK, I knew things from my father about England (nice people, top scientists, good managers, bad weather with rain most of the time and very cold in winter, food sometimes tasty sometimes not, etc...). During my stay, I confirmed all these stories. But overall I was very pleased to be there. I liked very much Madame Tussaud Museum in London and made many friends from different nationalities. I will go back to the UK to complete higher education and get a University degree there. At present, I am in the first year at Institute of Higher Education in Morocco, a Moroccan institute where courses are taught in English. |
