Enquiries on Result:

Notes for candidates on the submission of Enquiries on Results (EOR):

1. You can choose to undertake an Enquiry on Results – which means having your IELTS test re-marked. You must make this request within six weeks of your test date. Your test will be sent to the head office of British Council
2. You can choose to have one or more parts of your test re-marked. The fee is the same regardless.
3. The re-mark fee is £60 per candidate for British Council centres. You will receive a full refund if your result is changed to a higher band score.
4. Contact your original test centre for the EOR form and forward it with your original Test Report Form and payment to the IELTS Administrator at your test centre.
5. The re-mark is done by trained Clerical Markers and senior examiners employed by British Council
6. British Council: A Head Office will usually notify your test centre of the re-mark result within six to eight weeks of receipt of your exam materials.
7. You will receive an EOR letter stating your final result status. You should make all enquiries regarding the progress of your re-mark to your original test centre.

ONLINE REGISTRATION:

• Complete the online registration
• You will receive an automatic email confirming your registration.
• Pay for your exam.
• When your payment is received you will receive a second automatic email confirming the full registration.
• You must bring or post the following items to us, or bring them on the TEST DAY:
• Two recent (not more than six months old) identical passport-size photos, with clear background. Photo requirements
• Copy of your Passport or National Identity Card
• You MUST bring your original Passport or National ID on the TEST DAY

NOTE 1: ON THE TEST DAY:
You MUST bring with you the original, valid Passport or National Identity Card with which you registered for the test.

NOTE 2: PHOTOGRAPHS:
Candidates must not wear glasses in the photographs they submit for IELTS registration.

At the British Council:

• Check availability of preferred test date with Customer Service Team
• Complete the application form
• Provide two recent (not more than six months old) identical passport-size photos, with clear background. Photo requirements
• Show VALID Passport or National Identity Card. A copy will be attached to the application form.
• Pay for your exam
• You will receive a confirmation letter giving full test details

NOTE 1: ON THE TEST DAY:
You MUST bring with you the original, valid Passport or National Identity Card with which you registered for the test.

NOTE 2: PHOTOGRAPHS:
Candidates must not wear glasses in the photographs they submit for IELTS registration

BY POST

• Pick up an application form from our office or download it ( PDF 223 kb) from here
• Post the following items to the nearest centre
• Complete the application form
• Two recent (not more than six months old) identical passport-size photos, with clear background. Photo requirements
• Copy of your passport or National Identity Card
• Payment Method

We will email you the exam confirmation letter giving full details of the test day.

Bring the following documents on the Test Day, if you do not bring them, you will not be allowed to sit for the examination.

• Original and a photocopy of your passport or national ID
• Copy of your Confirmation of Registration
