Band scores are recorded on a Test Report Form, showing overall ability as well as performance in listening, reading, writing and speaking from one to nine (Absolute beginner through to expert user with fully operational command of the language, appropriate, accurate and fluent with complete understanding).
The institutions to which you are applying will normally stipulate which band they require.
The results are available 13 days after the test date.
You can access your results online from 3pm on the 13th day after the written test date. Please go to the British Council on-line results system: http//:ielts-results.britishcouncil.org and follow the instructions. You will need to enter your candidate number, Passport or ID number, Date of birth and then select the date you took the test
You may collect your own copy of the results or we can send it to you by post. Results will not be given by telephone, fax or email.
The official copy will go to the educational institution of your choice. If you want to try to improve your result, you can take the test again.
IELTS tests cost Dh 1750.
We recommend you to apply at least 4 weeks in advance to ensure you have the date of your choice.
You may send a cheque in Dirham made payable to British Council or by bank transfer if you don’t have a cheque book.
