Ask Jeeves for Kids The best search engine for children aged eight and older. Natural language queries are encouraged, e.g. 'What is the capital of China?' The database - mostly built by humans rather than computers - is quite reliable. See also their 'Cool sites' link. Study Web This website has 92,000 educational resources, all categorised (rather like Yahoo) and reviewed in terms of appearance, content and approximate grade level. Unusually, reviewers are named!
Education World This is a database of over 110,000 websites that are all checked and reviewed. It is well designed and up-to-date.
Business Information Sources on the Internet This is the best maintained and most up-to-date set of business English resources on the Internet. Hosted at Strathclyde University, it lists over 600 websites, with brief descriptions of each, and has its own search engine.
HM Treasury A well-maintained website with good texts on the Euro, transcripts of speeches and general information on the UK economy.
