Simple application procedures

Application procedures and deadlines depend on the type of course and institution you are applying for.

English language courses
If you are coming to the UK specifically for an English language course these can start at any time of the year, but many will have specific start dates.

For pre-session English courses check the application details of the main course you will be going on to attend. We can advise you on the requirements of specific schools.

We can also help you apply to the school you choose, and arrange for you accommodation. find out more about the services and application procedures.

Career-based courses
There is no closing date for application to the majority of these courses, but leave yourself enough time to apply for a visa, make travel arrangements and find accommodation.

Remember that the course will have specific start dates, many around the beginning of the academic year, which is in September.

Applications should be made direct to the institution by contacting the institution, and asking for a prospectus and application form. Alternatively, we have standard application forms that you can use.

Degree courses
To apply for full-time degree courses and higher national diplomas (Hands), you apply  through the centralised application process: the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS) rather than to individual universities and colleges.

You can apply for up to six courses at different universities or colleges on a single form, which can be obtained from one of our centres.

Postgraduate programmes
You should apply directly to the university or college that runs the course you want to do.

You should contact the institution of your choice and ask for a prospectus and application form. Make sure that you meet the requirements (e.g. academic, English language) of the course.

Some institutions now accept applications via the Internet. You may apply electronically from one of our centres.
