Agreement

  • At the time of entry, entrants are deemed to have read, understood and be in agreement with all rules and conditions.
  • The organizer reserves the right to rule on any issue(s) not covered by these rules and disclaimers.
  • In the event that an entrant should disagree with any decision made by the organizer, that entrant will have the right to withdraw his or her entry.
  • All related expenses incurred shall be borne solely by the entrant.
  • Entrants are entirely responsible for all entry-related costs, including but not limited to purchase or renting of equipment, use of computer systems, transmission fees, etc.

Copyright

  • The copyright of submitted and winning photos will be owned by the participating photographers.
  • By submitting an image to the contest, the entrant grants the organiser and its partners the non-exclusive license to use submitted photographs in its print and online publications.
  • The winning photos will be published with caption credit .

Responsibility

  • By submitting the photograph for consideration, the photographers attest that they created the image and that the submitted image belongs to him.
  • Photographers must also have obtained any necessary third-party releases and be responsible for ensuring that their submissions are in compliance with the legal and copyright laws of Morocco.
  • The organizer will not be responsible for any claims or complaints against infringement of rights or damages from third parties relating to the subject/subject matter of entries, and the entrant agrees to indemnify and hold the organizer harmless in such cases. The contest organizers reserve the right to request copy of any personal release, location release or artist release.
  • A photograph which displays an identified or identifiable person may infringe on such person’s right of privacy or may disclose such person’s personal information.
  • Entrants shall use due care to avoid any infringement of personal rights including but not limited to obtaining necessary permission from such person.
  • The organizer is not responsible for any damage or loss that may occur during the sending of entries via the Internet.
  • The organizer is not responsible for any problems or damages experienced by the entrant due to forces beyond the control of the organizer, such as but not limited to troubles relating to computer networks, computer virus infections or unauthorized computer access.
  • Except in proven cases of malice or gross negligence, the organizer is not responsible for any unfortunate or unwelcome occurrences and/or damages that may befall entrants as a result of entry to the contest.
  • British Council reserves the right to cancel or modify the rules at its discretion.
Photo Competition

Whether you are a student, professional or amateur photographer, share with us your best photography of people at work with a chance to win an iPad.

We are looking for a wide range of photos portraying people while working or learning skills. The photos should depict either a person or a group of people engaging in work in Morocco.

The aim of this competition is to showcase men and women in the extraordinary diversity of jobs in Morocco.

Prizes

The best photo: iPad

The first five winners: Training on photography with a professional photographer.

All the selected photographs: will be published on British Council website, facebook and Instagram.

An exhibition will also be organised on 27 and 28 November at Hayat Regency Hotel in Casablanca during The International Seminar Brining the Learning Home. ( link)


Contest dates

The contest starts on 1 October and ends on 31 October 2013 at 17.00

Winners will be notified by email or phone and their names will be published on our website and facebook on 15 November 2013.

The selected photographs will be published on British Council website and Facebook as from 15 Novemberr 2013.

Submission process

  • Youneed to complete this form with all your personal information and short description of the photo by 31 October 2013 at 17.00.
  • Email your photograph(s) to photos@britishcouncouncil.orgby 31 October 2013 at 17.00
  • Each photo should not be more than 10MB in size.
  • If you plan to submit several photos, please note that the maximum capacity of the inbox photos@britishcouncouncil.org is 10 MB per email.
  • Please send them via free large file solution(DropBox for example).
  • The details contained in your entry are protected by our privacy policy.
  • Any questions about the photo contest can be addressed to photos@britishcouncouncil.org

Judging

Photographs will be judged on the following criteria: Relation to the theme: how closely the photograph aligns with the theme of work in Morocco.

  • Creativity: the artistic level of the photograph.
  • Submitted images will be selected by the contest organizers.

The judges consist of British Council staff members and professional photographers.

Entry criteria
  • The competition is open to everyone aged 16 or above
  • The contest is not open to British Council staff.
  • Minor digital manipulations will be accepted.
  • A maximum of five photos are allowed per applicant.
  • Photos need to be in TIFF or JPEG format from 72 dpi until 300 dpi as a resolution .
  • All entries not respecting the theme or the technical/authorship requirements will be systematically ruled out.
  • All entries must relate to the theme of work or skills learning.
  • The first winner needs to collect their prize within one month of notification date.
  • The winner cannot claim the prize after one month of notification.
  • Prizes are not transferrable or exchangeable for cash. The British Council’s decision is final and no corresponded will be entered into.
