British Council Eureka Prize for Inspiring Science

The British Council Eureka Prize For Inspiring Science is awarded to young Australians between the age of 18 and 35 for outstanding research, inventiveness, innovation or creativity in science, engineering or technology.

The prize is designed to reward activity which has resulted in an outcome, a product, research result or similar which subsequently provided a vehicle for raising the profile of science, engineering or technology.

Activity entered for this prize might consist of;

  • a particularly significant or newsworthy research outcome
  • development or design of an innovative new product or item or
  • an innovative invention or creation.

The winners receive a $10,000 study tour to the United Kingdom developed by British Council Australia in consultation with the winner. The tour program is to enable interaction with appropriate British counterparts and to facilitate British and Australian co-operation in the winner's field.
