We are looking for a suitable qualified and experienced individual to join our Operations Team as Head of Arts.

Responsibilities and main duties:

• To build successful and productive relationships and negotiate with key contacts on all aspects of the Arts programme to ensure stakeholder satisfaction
• To contribute to the formulation and evaluation of the British Council’s strategic priorities for the arts in the Americas region
• To manage all aspects of the programme budget and ensure all British Council and audit standards are met.
• To increase the funding contributions for Arts projects from a range of partners in line with British Council Mexico strategic plan
• To oversee the delivery of the Arts portfolio to the highest standards including managing consultants working with us on Arts projects
• To ensure that all planned and ad hoc contacts with Arts partners, current or new, position the British Council as a partner of choice in the Arts.

Experience in the following areas:

• Experience of managing all aspects of complex arts projects
• Expertise in the Arts and Creativity sector in Mexico (and preferably in other countries as well) with a range of high level strategic contacts
• Ability to operate in English (both written and spoken) at a business level (equivalent fo CEF level C1 of IELTS 7 or higher)
