What Is YES!

There are three main product components:

1. Yes! e-English for teachers: a 10 month online course for English teachers to address the need for language development (levels A2-B1).
2. Yes! e-tutor training: online course for experienced teachers and teacher trainers interested in becoming on-line tutors.
3. TKT Essentials: a 4 month online or face to face course for English teachers to address the need for methodology development.

How is this achieved?

The project is implemented in partnership with ministries of education and local education authorities and takes into consideration the needs of the English teachers.

Teachers in general have very little time. The online platform allows them to study when and where it suits them.
E-tutors offer ongoing support to the teachers and help them to acquire the new study skills they need to successfully complete an online course.
Prior to taking the course, the teachers also receive training on relevant technology.

Teachers and technology (optional)

One of the important outcomes of the YES! program is that teachers become more familiar with the use of technology. Many teachers do not even have an email account when they start. They have introductory classes on the use of Internet and computer skills.  During the course they build confidence in the use of new technologies, which makes them better prepared to use them in the classroom and for their own personal development.

YES!

YES! has the objective of improving the teaching of English in the state school sector in Latin America and the Caribbean through the development and delivery of online courses and English teaching methodology for English teachers.
