The British Council in Mexico, in cooperation with UK examination boards and educational institutions, makes it possible for candidates with special needs to sit UK qualifications. Our exams administrators, examiners and venue staff are trained to meet the specific requirements of candidates who have learning difficulties such as dyslexia, as well as those with hearing, visual, kinetic or speech difficulties.

We also make special arrangements for candidates who have sustained accident-related injuries, such as a broken arm, prior to the exam day.

How does Addvantage work?

Addvantage is the British Council Exams Membership Programme that gives institutions rewards based on the number of Cambridge ESOL exams that they register with us. We will count every candidate your institution registers for a Cambridge ESOL exam taking into account candidates registered from April to March.

Who can participate in the Addvantage partnership programme?

All language schools and educational institutions that registered one or more candidates for the following Cambridge ESOL exams in the previous year (April to March) with the British Council Mexico:

• First Certificate in English (FCE),

• Certificate in Advanced English (CAE),

• Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE),

When and how can I join the Addvantage programme?

Right now! British Council has gathered full data on the number of candidates registered by particular institutions. Those that have registered at least one candidate will be invited to join the programme.

When and how will I receive these benefits?

Over the next year. Some products will be posted to you, others will be sent by e-mail. We will give you a schedule of the specific events we have programmed for you. The decision as to whether you take up some or all of the options lies with you as a programme participant – in such cases please contact the British Council directly.

Will the level of benefits be the same next year?

We are always working to improve our services and will review the benefits of Addvantage annually, taking into account your feedback. Where can I find more information?
