The British Council in Abu Dhabi will relocate to a new administrative office and separate teaching centre.

The relocation process will start with the teaching centre activity moving to HCT CERT (Abu Dhabi Men’s college) from July 2, 2008. The administrative functions will follow with a move to a new villa location close to CERT after the summer period.

From July 2, the current Abu Dhabi centre will only be open to the public by prior appointment (by calling the dedicated contact centre on 800 22 55 22).

June courses and registration:
The last English language courses to take place at our existing premises in Abu Dhabi will be the June courses for young learners and adults, from June 5-26. Registration for these courses will be at the existing centre, from June 2-4.

July courses and registration:
The first English language courses to be taught on the CERT premises will be for young learners and adults, from July 2 – 23.

However, registration for these July courses will take place on June 29-30 and July 1, at our existing offices.

The British Council is changing the way it operates in many parts of the world including the Middle East, which is a priority region.

The new approach is designed to take public access services, such as English language teaching and examinations for UK qualifications, directly into the community. Our administrative offices will support the teaching site and also provide a base for the British Council’s own project teams, which manage programmes in areas such as education reform and quality assurance, arts and sciences, working in the community in collaboration with local organisations.

The British Council’s physical presence is increasingly complemented by the developing online presence and call centre support, offering broader options and greater convenience for people needing information on any aspect of the British Council’s work.   

Our aim is to engage with people on their terms, including through electronic and web-based media.
