Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults (CELTA)
CELTA (Cambridge Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults) is an internationally recognised qualification in the teaching of English to speakers of other languages.
CELTA course is to develop a practical awareness of adult learners, the English language, and language learning materials and resources. There are three components of assessment: candidate’s professional development, assessment of teaching practice and written assignments. You will have written assignments, and your progress will be assessed throughout the course. There is no final exam. Each course is assessed by an external assessor (approved and appointed by Cambridge).

We run this course once a year: the next course will be in the autumn (dates to be confirmed). You will study five mornings a week, from 0900 to 1300 (on Mondays, the class will end at 1430). Two of these classes will be input sessions, three will cover teaching practice. The course includes six hours of observed teaching (to be arranged in afternoons and evenings).
The full cost of the course is approximately QR 8000 (this includes the Cambridge registration fee). To secure your place, this fee must be paid one month before the course begins at our reception desk between 0900 and 1200.
Download an application form and pre-interview task. When you have completed these, return them to our centre. We will contact you for an interview if you meet the qualification's entry requirements.
