English for the future

English for the Future is a global, 5-year programme designed by the British Council to help millions of teachers and learners of English in Near East North Africa and the Middle East better teach and learn English.

The programme has three interlinking components, which aim to support decision makers, trainers, teachers and learners of English.

ENGLISH INTERFACE

English for the Future works with governments, ministries, vocational education organisations and other partners on teacher training and development, quality standards and resources to build institutional capacity and develop individuals. We also commission research into learning and teaching to better understand the key issues in the region.

ENGAGING TEACHERS

English for the Future is committed to helping all teachers in the Middle East have access to quality materials, websites and skills where possible.

E-CONNECT

English for the Future provides a range of on-line and other learning support to children, their parents, young people and young professionals to support learners in formal education.  The e-connect component comprises a different range of products for developing the language skills of young learners in the region like Learn English mobile, newspaper, radio, TV, social networking, etc
