The Young Creative Entrepreneur (YCE) programme seeks to celebrate, support and connect emerging innovative and entrepreneurial leaders in the creative and cultural industries around the world.
The focus on entrepreneurship and innovation is a unique part of the award. We look for the people shaping our creative future - testing new models and ideas and having a positive economic and social impact in their local and global communities. We identify emerging leaders in creative businesses, who are able to make international connections and to use these to benefit others.
Young Creative Entrepreneur Media Award 2012
The Young Creative Entrepreneur Media award finds the brightest stars in the world of international media, recognising the importance of entrepreneurs in industry development, championing their independent sector and representing the best of what’s going on in their local scene. Since 2007, 76 young media entrepreneurs from more than 40 countries have taken part in the programme, building an active alumni network in the process, seeing the creation of new collaborations and business, co-productions, increased profiles, showcasing of work and participation at international festivals and industry events from Estonia to Indonesia, Poland to India, Ghana to UAE – and beyond!
In 2012, approximately 17 international winners from 16 countries as diverse as Malaysia to Bahrain and Latvia to Mexico will participate in a shared study tour of the UK’s media sector. The programme allows the winners to gain unique access to and insights into the UK media industry, as well as providing a fantastic opportunity to make a wide range of business contacts that will act as a springboard for future business/collaborations between the UK and internationally. The tour will run alongside the key UK industry events of London Film Festival (10-25 October) and Power to the Pixel (16-19 October).
The programme will include:
