Course length 3 hours per week, for 10 weeks per module (30 hours in total)


This course is designed for people who are interested in teaching English to speakers of other languages. You do not need teaching experience to attend but you must have an intermediate level of English.


ABOUT THIS COURSE
We aim to help you expand your knowledge of the concepts associated with teaching and learning language. The course helps you prepare for the Cambridge Teacher Knowledge Test, a Cambridge accredited qualification.


CONTENT
Module 1: Language and background to language learning and teaching:

  • describing language and language skills
  • background to language learning
  • background to language teaching

Module 2: Planning lessons and use of resources for language teaching:

  • planning and preparing a lesson or sequence of lessons
  • selection and use of resources and materials

Module 3:Managing the teaching and learning process:

  • teachers’ and learners’ language in the classroom
  • classroom management

The modules can be taken independently and in any order.

Class schedule will be dependent on the level the student is placement tested into.
