My Course

I found out that the course structure and workload is more than I expected during my first year doing Mechanical Engineering here. However, as I get to know a lot more people - international students and Malaysian seniors - they are helping to make life much easier for me.

It's a wonderful course as it covers not the only fundamental engineering knowledge, but it also holistically develops you in order to prepare for work immediately after graduation.

My University

The location and arrangement of the University is what amazes me. It's so concentrated that an end-to-end walk in the University will only take 20 minutes.

It is also a 10-minute walk to the city centre, giving you peace of mind when travelling here in Liverpool as you don't even need to take a bus. After all, the light exercise will be good for you (and me)!

My Liverpool

Like the University, the town is very compact yet complete.

In Liverpool there are a lot of cultural activities throughout the year, and Liverpool was the European Capital of Culture in 2008.

There's a lot of structural development as well, like Liverpool One, which is very impressive I would say.

My top tips

  • Bring enough warm clothes (like sweaters, socks, winter jackets).
  • Bring enough money. There's always more to pay for than you expect, like accommodation deposits, etc.
  • Do thorough research regarding the accommodation that you choose. It could make you or break you. Don't forget we are here to help answer any questions you have!
  • Try to get in contact with students who are already here in Liverpool to get advice from them. We'll help you - don't worry.
  • Finally, bring the right mindset. You're here to study, explore, and have the best time of your life!
