The British Council was established in 1934 and now operates in 229 towns and cities within 110 countries and territories worldwide working directly with 16.5 million people mainly through our large scale projects, English language teaching and delivery of exams. We employ 1,100 staff in the UK and 6,800 staff in the rest of the world.
We have been operating in Malaysia since 1947. We have centres in Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Kota Kinabalu and Kuching.
