Participants will be required to attend all sessions and deliver a 15 - 20 minute micro-training session at the end of the training.
SHORT SUMMARY OF THE COURSE The training will open with an exploration of the participants’ beliefs about teachers and teaching, teacher roles, teacher knowledge and the skills required of an effective trainer. It will give the participants an opportunity to equip themselves with the expertise to profile teachers and help them identify their learning styles. The features of a successive workshop will also be looked at, while exploring the patterns of interaction, building rapport and giving constructive feedback. The participants will receive input and opportunities to practise evaluating materials, defining learning outcomes and reviewing other training sessions.
The training will be rounded off with micro-training sessions delivered by the participants and reflection on what has been achieved during the seminar so as to support teachers in designing and giving their own training sessions in the future.
WHAT HAPPENS AFTER THE TRAINING Each of the trainers will be required to sign a two-year contract with the British Council and organise and deliver teacher training sessions across Macedonia, the first being held by the end of May 2012.
A short meeting with the whole group of trainers is planned for May/June 2012 that will focus on exchange of initial experiences from the workshops held and consolidating the group as a future forum for joint consultations and planning of future activities.
